SIPs create a light but strong structure that perfectly copes with loads. SIP buildings function similarly to thin shell structures by distributing point loads over the entire surface to improve structural efficiency.

Ecopan SIP panels are designed to meet the requirements for load-bearing capacity, resistance to deflection and wind load, according to the test results set out in the Ecopan ETA certification.

Loads on Ecopan wall panels

Wall load values ​​are calculated for class 2 according to EN 1995-1-1. The standard height Lmax of the Ecopan wall is 2800 mm. The calculation model is valid for undivided shells of OSB/3 or gypsum fiber boards (GPS) on both sides of Ecopan panels. The mechanical properties of the insulating base used in the calculation model are given in the table below.

In the calculation model, slotted joints and Ecopan ridge beams are used. Ecopan slotted joints and ridge beams give the same mechanical resistance results. The load values ​​are calculated values ​​according to EN 1995-1-1 and relevant EN standards. Characteristics of OSB/3 according to EN 12369-1. The strength class of wooden elements is C24 according to EN 338.

Considering the modification, the deformation and partial coefficients (kmod, kdef, γm) should be used according to EN 1995-1-1, taking into account the duration of the load and the corresponding class of operation.

Natural durability

The panels can be used in service classes 1 and 2 according to EN 1995-1-1 and EN 335. The products may be exposed to direct weather for a short time during installation.

OSB/3 boards have been assessed to have satisfactory durability for intended use in use classes 1 and 2 according to EN 335.

The natural durability of wooden components and fasteners can be found in the ETA Ecopan certificate.
