It is proved that a properly built house, even without taking into account engineering systems, saves up to 75% of the heat by passive reduction of heat consumption and significantly increases the environmental safety of your home.
House set ECOPAN is assembled from solid SIP panels. SIP – is an abbreviation for Structural Insulated Panel, which has an undeniable advantage over traditional building materials (brick and wood) – low thermal conductivity.
The ingenious is simple. SIP is a three-layer sandwich of two moisture-resistant boards connected by a layer of solid expanded polystyrene. This material is insulated walls prudent owners of “Khrushchev” and “checks”. So just 12 centimeters of this material keeps heat as effectively as a half-meter wall of a wooden beam or 2-meter brick.
In the summer heat, the house keeps a pleasant coolness, and in frosty weather, even with a total absence of heating, it keeps the temperature above zero. It takes only 1 hour to heat the room to +20 °C. For example, the owner of the house of SIP-panels, which installed the gas heating, was not too lazy to make a comparative calculation: the house area of 200 square meters. m at a frost -12 ° C expended on heating a day to 15 cubic meters of gas. The brick house of his friends, with an area of only 75 sq. m., under the same weather conditions, requires 33 cubic meters of gas per day for full heating.
By the way, the Amundsen-Scott International Polar Station was built in 2008 by SIP technology. This is an American astrophysical project D.A.S.I. – South Pole SIPs Project
And this is a project of an energy-efficient house by ECOPAN architects
Even though houses made of SIP panels are, a priori, warm houses, for your home to be truly energy efficient, you need to consider other factors.
The right windows
The costs of “window heating” are quite significant in a house. Our calculation has shown that an average house (150 sq.m.) with traditional glazing uses as much energy to compensate for heat losses through the windows as it does for hot water, cooking, lighting, and a sewage treatment plant combined during a permanent residence (about 6,000 kWh per year). In stone houses, in addition to large windows, it is necessary to heat the window jambs.
In our Ecopan veneer houses, we use energy-efficient glass units GLAS TRÖSCH EN2PLUS 32 МM, which have approximately the same thermal insulation parameters as 30 cm thick double masonry with 10 cm insulation. At the same time, as far as sound insulation is concerned, it can be compared with a 120 mm thick sand-lime brick wall.
Characteristics of the Glas Trösch EN2plus 32 mm energy package
Increased thermal insulation due to reduced thermal conductivity
Significant energy savings on heating in winter and air conditioning in summer
Optimal daylight through the high light transmission
Comfort and efficient use of all areas
Optimal access of visible light, UV, and heat for vigorous flower growth
Balanced values for thermal conductivity and solar transmittance
Use of high-quality EUROGLAS float glass
Max glass size: 6000 x 3210 mm
Application of Energy Pack® Glas Trösch EN2plus 32mm
For universal use on windows, doors, conservatories, and facades
Can be combined with EUROWHITE and LUXAR (clear and anti-reflective glass)
Can be combined with other panes of glass to ensure solar protection, safety, and soundproofing
Durability of Glas Trösch EN2plus 32mm
Because the coating is applied to the insulating glass unit and cannot be damaged, the lifetime of the coating is as long as that of the insulating glass unit itself.
Advantages of the Glas Trösch EN2plus 32mm energy glass unit
Individual combination options according to safety and sound insulation requirements
Innovative ACS+ spacebar that prevents the formation of condensation water at the edges, on the inside of the insulating glass unit
Technical data of the Glas Trösch EN2plus 32mm energy package
A nice bonus for our customers, the Glas Trösch EN2plus 32mm energy package participates in the state loan program for individuals for the implementation of energy-saving projects.
ECOPAN architects will offer you an efficient layout of the house and its location on your property, which will allow you to significantly reduce the energy costs of operation.
For example, if you plan the largest area (70-80%) of windows on the southern facade of the house it will help to passively heat the room in winter. To prevent overheating in the summer, we recommend planning horizontal solar protection structures above the window line – canopies, “awnings”, ceilings of terraces. In projects of single-story houses to increase the eaves of the roof. But the number of windows facing the west is better to minimize because they will lead to overheating of the premises, in the east, we recommend placing 20-30% of the total area of the windows.
Economical sources of heating
It is better to choose a heating system with two factors in mind: the availability and cheapness of the energy carrier, and the autonomy of the system in case of force majeure.
For an energy-efficient home, we recommend using:
Solid fuel boilers
This is a guarantee of heat, regardless of the quality of the electric grid and gas supply. In this case, the heating will be fully autonomous and independent of the energy supply. Solid fuel boiler is a relatively simple device, it is sufficiently reliable, versatile, can operate for a long time without current repairs.
Electric boilers
For those who do not want to take much part in their maintenance. Roughly speaking, put and forget. Moreover, you do not need to prepare anything special for them, for example, electric boilers do not need a chimney at all, unlike other heating boilers, which already saves you from additional repairs. In terms of temperature control, the flexibility of control of the heating system, electric heating has the best performance. An electric boiler is a great backup to an existing system.
Electric radiators
They were created quite a long time ago and are being improved all the time. Not a single extra kilowatt will be wasted thanks to “smart” electronics. Heating is turned on automatically as needed, and electricity consumption depends only on the set temperature in the room and the heat loss of the building.
Alternative energy sources
Modern alternative energy involves complex technical solutions for the collection of energy from different sources. So, in one house, complementing each other, several alternative energy systems can be used simultaneously: a solar collector and heat pump will provide hot water, heating and air conditioning, and solar panels – electric power for all systems, lighting, and household appliances.
